Neha Patel is a practicing psychologist- counselor and psychotherapist since the past 23 years. Her expertise lies in the seamless incorporation of diverse therapeutic techniques she uses with each client, based on the client’s individual needs.
She believes that, “To sow the seeds of positive emotional health in childhood is to reap a harvest of healthy well-balanced adults”.
Neha is the founder of Sharnam Therapy and Healing, a center for psychological, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
She is co-founder of Mind And Arts Institute, through which she teaches ARTS BASED THERAPY. She is attached to Nanavati Superspeciality Hospital in Mumbai, India as a consultant psychologist.
She is a visiting psychologist at Mpower in Mumbai.
Education
She has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Mumbai University (1995). Over and above her main area of training, she has upgraded her knowledge and practice by training in different therapies.
- She is a trained Arts Based Therapy (ABT) Practitioner and Educator. ABT is the use of multiple art forms (music, drama, visual arts) & their combinations in therapy. She has also attended certified short courses in Dance and Movement Therapy, Art Therapy and Play Therapy.
- She has trained in several psychotherapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and Skills for Adolescents (SFA). She is also currently pursuing Bachelors in Transactional Analysis (BTA).
- She has attended trainings and workshops such as and Skills for Adolescents (SFA) conducted by Lions Quest, School Counsellor’s Refresher Course conducted by Dr.Kaila and Dr. Harish Shetty at SNDT college.
- She is certified in Hypnotherapy, Regression Therapy and Journey Work, which she uses extensively in her practice. One of her areas of expertise is deep level sub conscious mind healing and inner child healing.
- She integrates Energy Psychology in her practice and is internationally certified in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Psych – K.
- She is a Vipassana practitioner and incorporates mindfulness training in her sessions largely.

- Neha has been in private practice since the year 1999, working with children and adults.
- She was a consultant school psychologist at Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School from 1999 until 2010. She started the counseling department in the school and worked with hundreds of students, teachers and parents for their emotional wellbeing through individual and group sessions as well as ABT sessions, workshops and seminars for the entire school population.
- Neha was also a part time psychologist for Billabong High School in Juhu Scheme for the period of 2 years.
- She practiced at Sunflower hospital in Juhu Scheme, Mumbai for 11 years.
- Along with her private practice, she has been invited as a guest speaker to several schools and colleges to address the student and parent body on various topics pertaining to current psychological and emotional issues.
- She has conducted workshops, talks and seminars for corporate houses and NGO’s on varied topics of emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing in India as well as in USA.
- Neha has been a guest trainer for counseling courses conducted at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) especially conducting Dance and Movement Therapy workshops for them.
- She is presently a consultant psychologist at Kamala Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture (KRVIA) where she holds individual sessions as well as workshops for students, staff and parents.
- Neha is the founder and Head Psychologist at Sharnam Therapy and Healing. She has a team of psychologists who work with her at Sharnam, conducting individual sessions as well as group work.
- Sharnam provides counseling services to schools in Mumbai.

- With a vision of emotionally and spiritually well balanced children, Neha has conceptualized and created the Little Buddha and Teenage Buddha program, for children to maximize their potential and live their lives with awareness, harmony and integrity.
- Neha was recently honoured with an Excellence Award contribution recognizing her contribution in the field of psychology, for her work with children and especially the Little Buddha Program by The Clover Leaf Learning Academy in association with Reliance.
- Neha is the founder and psychologist of Aashayein, a support group from those suffering from depression and anxiety.

- She actively contributes by sharing her learning and experience through articles and quotes in English and Gujarati publications such as The Times Of India, Bombay Times, DNA, Hindustan Times, Mumbai Mirror, English and Gujarati Mid-Day, Gujarat Samachar, Abhiyaan, Chitralekha, Femina and Life Positive. She has been interviewed for her expert opinion by the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) on several important national and international topics. She has appeared on television as a guest speaker for several shows.
Social Service – Contribution to the society
- She has volunteered her services post the Mumbai terror attack at Taj Hotel by conducting Arts Based Techniques with the employees.
- She facilitates ‘THE WELLBEING CIRCLE’, a free weekly gathering to come together and share, express, meditate.
- She was a co- facilitator and psychologist for ‘Umang’ a support group for depression patients. She also conducts depression awareness seminars wherein she discusses depression in depth and conducts activities with the participant to encourage positive thinking.
- Under the banner of RENEW (non-profit organization) she brings awareness on topics of emotional wellbeing in schools for teachers, parents and students.
